Anago Cleaning Systems Again Named a Top Franchise for Minorities
Anago Cleaning Systems has been recognized by the National Minority Franchising Initiative for the second year in a row. NMFI recognizes franchise organizations with exceptional minority participation. Over 450 franchise companies responded to the survey, and Anago was one of the top 50 selected. Franchises are ranked on percentage of minority owned units, as well as minority representation among senior management. The results of the survey appeared in an article in USA Today.
According to the article, minorities continue to make great strides, increasing their representation in the franchise industry. USA Today cited two main reasons for this growth – first, their entrepreneurial instincts and mental toughness during difficult economic times and second, the efforts of Franchisors like Anago to attract and support minorities, thus bridging the gap in representation within their organization. The 2010 Census reported that minorities in aggregate make up 49% of the total U.S. population, and they make up nearly 20% of the franchise industry. The spike in business ownership by minorities has been especially evident during the past decade.
Anago was founded in 1989 by David Povlitz, who operated a successful conventional janitorial company. After realizing the potential of the recession resistant commercial cleaning industry combined with the franchise business model, Anago was born. The first Master Franchise opened in 1995, and today the company boasts over 30 Master Territories in the U.S. with over 2, 100 Unit Franchisees. Anago provides the backing and support of an established company to give aspiring business owners the foundation to succeed in this thriving industry. The commercial cleaning industry is projected at $100 billion annually, with expected double-digit growth.
“Anago Cleaning Systems has always been, and will continue to look toward the minority community. Minority-owned businesses are the future of American entrepreneurship. They have an exceptionally strong work ethic”, said Anago’s Chairman David Povlitz. “Minority franchise owners are a major part of Anago’s success.”

Anago Cleaning Systems Gives Back to Veterans
Anago Cleaning Systems’ Chairman, David Povlitz, today announced a program offering huge discounts on Master Franchise territories to honorably discharged veterans across the country. This discount is being offered in conjunction with the International Franchise Association VetFran program, “Operation Enduring Opportunity”.
Anago is committed to keeping the entrepreneurial spirit alive, especially during this difficult economic period. These times are especially challenging for veterans who have put their lives on the line to defend our freedom. In gratitude for their service to our country, four (4) lucky veterans will be able to live the dream of business ownership by purchasing an Anago Master Franchise for just $9,300! Franchise fees for these territories ordinarily start at $35,000 but to commemorate the 93rd national celebration of Veterans Day, four Master Franchise territories will be offered exclusively to veterans for only $9,300. This limited-time offer is available to the first four honorably discharged veterans from any branch of the U.S. military who apply and qualify. For details on this special program for veterans, please contact AnagoGivesBack@anagousa.com.
Anago is both owned and managed by two former U.S. servicemen, who know firsthand the sacrifices these brave men and women have made to defend the freedom we enjoy as Americans. Anago’s President Terry Mollica expressed it best: ”The ‘Greatest Generation’ is a term coined by a well-known journalist to describe the Americans who grew up in the U.S. during the Great Depression, and then went on to fight and win freedom for all. I can say without reservation that all service men and women serving our country in these rough times deserve that title also. Anago thanks you as well.”
